The session will start with a short overview of the Jordanian context and proceed to a panel discussion with representatives from Mercy Corps, UN-Habitat, the Greater Amman Municipality, and Civil Defense Authority to discuss how cities can build climate-resilient communities while also addressing urban challenges, especially in the context of the influx of refugee population. The session will exchange experiences and recommendations on how cities can effectively engage with residents and take a participatory systems approach in urban planning amidst uncertainty in climate change and the socio-economic environment.
