Climate change is not a standalone issue but a stress multiplier of social, environmental and economic factors that affect individuals, families and communities and therefore a matter of justice. Community resilience is often thought of in terms of the ability to withstand and prepare for short term shocks. However resilience in communities isn’t just about ‘emergencies’, it’s about longer term challenges or stresses. The series of thought-provoking talks will cover various initiatives such as education, energy, and climate capacity building. The talks will open a discussion on the importance of collaborative processes for building community resilience to climate change in cities
