Water being an important resource specifically needs to be managed in cities due to heavy demand for varied uses with a fixed but limited supply. This session tries to establish a 'Urban Water Cycle' considering the key aspects of water budgeting, waste water treatment and reuse, innovative methods of waste water treatment for water balancing at city level and groundwater management in urban areas. Water management is critical for resilience against climate change. This session will also touch upon the cross cutting themes of gender, health and equity along with discussion on socio-economic aspect of water component in urban areas.
