The session tries to deliberate on some of the key issues, particularly focused on climate change impact in land use planning, and land and tenure governance in ecologically fragile countries like Nepal. With a fast and haphazard growth of urbanization, need for addressing to the issues of informality, local and regional planning with due consideration for mitigating climate change has become more relevant than ever. The session is planned to focus on knowledge sharing and enhanced collaboration between the government, professionals, urban and regional planners and national/ international partners on climate and disaster risk sensitive land use planning, land management and land tenure governance for developing sustainable urban-rural linkages.
