Bio

Jubaer is an urban planner, has expertise on urban development, and climate resilience planning. He holds a Masters in Disaster Management from the University of Dhaka, Bachelor’s in Urban and Rural Planning from Khulna University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Planning from National Academy for Planning and Development. He is also an Environmental Management System Internal Auditor (ISO 14001:2015), and has certifications on climate change and cities from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.He worked in both government and non-government organizations and has wide engagement with the local government institutions in Bangladesh. With more than 13 years of experience, he has conducted a number of development projects on climate change adaptation, renewable energy, and urban development plans along with national and international partners – GIZ, UN-Habitat, European Commission, Rockefeller Foundation, JICA, World Bank, DFID and the Local Government Engineering Department of the Government of Bangladesh.Currently, at ICLEI South Asia, he is managing the Bangladesh country office and coordinating projects based in various cities of Bangladesh.Website: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mdjubaerrashid/
