Full Professor at the School of Architecture and Urbanism, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Head of the Architecture and Urbanism Graduate Programme. Head of the Environment and Energy Studies Laboratory – LABAUT 2014-2018 and Vice-Head of the Department of Technology 2012–2014 and 2004–2006. Tutor of undergraduate and graduate students. Supervisor of post-docs. Visiting Professor at the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master´s Degree on Urban Climate and Sustainability (MUrCS/EU). Currently coordinator of ‘Cities’ adaptation to climate change in the microscale’ (CNPq) and research partner at ‘CONEXUS: Co-producing NBS and restored ecosystems - transdisciplinary nexus for Urban Sustainability’ (EU/H2020). In 2019 concluded ‘The role of planning, urban and building design for climate adaptation in the microscale. Contributions to an interdisciplinary approach’ (FAPESP/PFPMCG), shortlisted for Camp Serrapilheira 2019; in 2017/18. After a long-term commitment with the Passive and Low Energy Architecture – PLEA, since 1998, became PLEA Associate in 2005 and was one of PLEA Directors 2011-2016. Member of the International Association for Urban Climate. Expert Reviewer for the First and Second Order Draft of the Working Group II (WGII) Contribution to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6).
