Bio

Cora has over 20 years experience advancing community and organizational sustainability. She has worked on award winning plans, she has initiated and led numerous sustainability initiatives and is an advisor on municipal, regional and corporate climate action and sustainability programs. Her work focuses on helping communities and businesses identify a path to a sustainable future through the development of collaborative processes and the application of science-based planning and strategy frameworks. Cora has extensive background in climate action, sustainable consumption and materials management. She has served on numerous boards and advisory groups, including most recently the Capital Regional District Roundtable on the Environment. Cora was also the founder and past President of Connecting Environmental Professionals in Vancouver. She is now Principal of her own consulting practice; part-time manager of Ecocity Initiatives for the Centre for Ecocities at BCIT; and is a Senior Associate with One Earth. She currently leads three progressive sustainability initiatives: the Greater Victoria 2030 District, which has engaged leading property managers in creating a hub of high performing buildings; One Planet Saanich which engages businesses, community organizations and schools in developing ‘One Planet Living’ sustainability actions plans; and the Ecocity Peer Network which is helping BC local governments understand and act on their ecological footprints.
