Bio

Bruce Stiftel is Professor Emeritus of City and Regional Planning at Georgia Institute of Technology [USA]. He serves UN-Habitat as chair of the research and knowledge working group of Planners for Climate Action, and as co-chair of the University Network Initiative steering committee. He is a member of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning’s (ACSP) Global Planning Education Committee, and the editorial boards of International Planning Studies, J. American Planning Association, J. Comparative Urban Law and Policy, Planning Theory, and Town Planning Review.Stiftel was president of ACSP, editor of the J of Planning Education and Reserch, and founding chair of the Global Planning Education Association Network. His teaching has included courses in environmental planning, planning theory, citizen participation, negotiation and dispute resolution, and international development. His research has advanced the practices of environmental mediation and water governance, and promoted international movement of planning scholarship.
